First up P1 winners at Baltimore
American Le Mans Series P1 class winners Michael Marsal and Eric Lux have had a lucky day in Baltimore.
Not only did Marsal fight back after understeering into the tire wall in turn one on the open lap, they were lucky to even start the race after a fan on the grid walk managed to set off the car’s fire extinguisher while on the grid walk.
Dyson Racing crew members had to rush back to the paddock to get a replacement system and have it fitted before the green flag while Police were in the process of arresting the culprit.
While teammates Chris Dyson and Guy Smith struck trouble, along with rivals Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr – the young guns Marsal and Lux still drove a solid race to bring their Mazda-powered Lola home and earn the the duo their first P1 victories.
Michelin Alley spoke with 2011 PC class champion Lux after the race.
