First hour at Road Amrica
First hour at Road Amrica
After the first hour of action at Road America, Dyson Racing’s Steven Kane leads the pack ahead of Lucas Luhr and Muscle Milk Racing Aston Martin.
While Luhr lead into turn one on the start, Kane made the move in turn two and held the lead through to the first round of pit stops. The Aston actually went two laps longer but came out just behind the Mazda Lola.
The added excitement for the Muscle Milk crew was a small fire on the stop.
With an unwell Chris Dyson behind the wheel, the #16 Lola Mazda sat in third place.
CORE autosport held the lead in LMPC but not with the championship leading #06 machine of Ricardo Gonzalez and Gunnar Jeannette.
Both CORE cars pitted for fuel top ups under an early yellow and Frankie Montecalvo move through the pack to take the lead at the one hour mark.
The #06 Gonzalez car was delayed by a spin, slight contact with the wall and extra visit to the pit lane to check for damage.
Oliver Gavin continued the great form of the #3 Corvette in GT – holding the lead after one hour ahead of Jaime Melo’s Risi Ferrari.
A number of cars elected to pit under the yellow with #4 and #56 BMWs pitting – both teams splitting their strategy options.
