Both the Muscle Milk Aston Martin and the Dyson Racing Mazda-Lola both made their final stops with 55 mins to go.
Both teams had to replace drivers – Klaus Graf climbing aboard the race leading Aston and Chris Dyson taking his turn for Mazda.
However, heavier drops of rain began to fall shortly after and a number of cars spun on track. Other quickly headed to the pit lane for wet tyres including the Tommy Milner Corvette in GT and Chris Dyson’s Mazda.
They were quickly followed by the virtually the entire field.
How long will the rain last and have we seen the last of the pit stops? Those are the big questions that every team manager up and down pit lane wants to know.
