Ferrari on a hot streak
Starting on the pole for today’s Oak Tree Grand Prix at VIR is the hottest team in the TUDOR Championship; the defending race champions Risi Competizione Ferrari.
After a miserable start to the season, the Ferrari F 458 Italia team led by Giuseppe Risi has been red hot.
Giancarlo Fisichella and Pierre Kaffer won the pole and set the fastest race lap on the way to a second place finish at Indianapolis.
They followed that up with a dominant win at Road America and will start from the pole here today,
The Houston based team has seemingly found the sweet spot on its Ferrari and former F1 veteran Fisichella and Ferrari factory mate Kaffer are enjoying the ride.
After winning the pole on Saturday, Kaffer said: ““This car today is one of the best I’ve ever had in my hands – it’s perfect,” said Kaffer.
A ‘perfect’ car with confident factory drivers, a veteran team, and race strategies called by some of the best in the business is hard to beat
