ESM Ferrari back on the podium
The Extreme Speed Ferrai squad showed at Long Beach they will be real contender in 2012 in the GT ranks.
And green isn’t only one of the colors in the Ferrari 458 Italia paint scheme – Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek took out the MICHELIN® GREEN X® Challenge as the GT car that took the honors for being fast, clean and efficient.
After starting 9th on the GT grid, van Overbeek charged through to the pack to take the race lead before the pit stop. Scott Sharp was shuffled back to fourth on the restart when he found himself in the wrong lane going into turn 1 – the lane in which a PC class machine “parked” at the apex under brakes.
He fought back to climb up to third with a brilliant “over/under” pass on Corvette Racing’s Jan Magnussen entering the back straight.
