ESM becomes Team USA
Extreme Speed Motorsport may have had a troubled day at Sebring so far, but they have been doing their best to fly the flag for the USA.
The Florida-based team is the only two-car team to field an all-American line-up in today’s race. Scott Sharp, Johannes van Overbeek and Guy Cosmo are driving together in the #01 machine while Ed Brown has been joined by new recruits Jeff Segal and Anthony Lazarro.
“There’s some great drivers from all around the world that compete in our series and compete in the forefront of professional endurance sports car racing and I think it’s great for us to tackle this race with an all-American line-up,” Scott Sharp said.
The two ESM cars added an American flag to the rear of their machines for this weekend’s Sebring classic.
The lead #01 Ferrari for ESM suffered an early delay when contact caused a broken alternator belt.
