Tom Kimber-Smith is a busy boy in 2013. A race winner for CORE autosport in 2012, “TKS” will headline CORE’s new GT program alongside Porsche ace Patrick Long.

But along with his ALMS duties, the three-time Le Mans class winner will also continue his association with Greaves Motorsport in the P2 class – contesting the Sebring 12 Hours, the Six Hours of Spa and the Le Mans 24 Hours.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started with CORE on the GT program. I have a great opportunity to work with Pat (Long) on the Porsche and I am sure he will be able to teach me a lot about the cars.

“I am really pleased to continue my association with Greaves Motorsport too and I am sure that we can add to the list of successes that we have achieved together over the past two years.

“Their cars have always been prepared to the very highest levels, the fact that there have been no retirements for any reason while I have driven for them is evidence of that. I am confident that 2013 will a great year for endurance racing.

“I’m in a really fortunate position at the moment with a really manic year because a couple of years ago I was sitting on the couch not racing anything.”

This weekend Kimber-Smith will lead the Nissan-powered battle against a pair of HPD Hondas from Extreme Speed and Level 5. The Brit was second fastest in this morning’s session behind Level 5’s Simon Pagenaud.
