Davison ruled out of Mexico
British Toyota Gazoo Racing ace Anthony Davidson has been forced out of this weekends FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Mexico due to a rib injury.
The Toyota squad revealed this morning that Davidson suffered a crash in testing at Paul Ricard last month. The ex-Formula 1 driver did several laps during this morning’s test but has elected to skip this weekend in an effort to be fully healed in time for the Circuit of The Americas race on September 17.
“It is disappointing to come all the way here and then not be able to race but it’s the right decision,” Davison said.
“I wasn’t comfortable in the car this morning and there is no point to take any risks, especially with Austin coming up. It’s not a problem to race here with two drivers but it would be impossible in Austin due to the high temperatures.
“So I’ll be a frustrated spectator for the rest of the week but I know Séb and Kazuki will do a good job.”
