Cosmo’s unfinished business
Cosmo’s unfinished business
ESM’s Guy Cosmo virtually “grew up” racing at Lime Rock Park, but the Long Beach P2 race winner enters this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park fired up to return to Connecticut for “unfinished business”.
Cosmo looked set to bring the ESM Patrón P2 machine home for its second win at Lime Rock but came off second best after contact with Level 5 Motorsport’s Ryan Briscoe.
At least in 2013, Cosmo was able to make it home to the finish. In 2012 Cosmo had contact with the CORE autosport PC car of Tom Kimber-Smith while late in the race and finished embedding the Ferrari in the final turn tire wall.
While Briscoe and Scott Tucker got the trophy this year at Lime Rock, Cosmo and Sharp were awarded the winning points post-race after the Level 5 car was penalized.
The following weekend at the Toronto IndyCar weekend, it was Briscoe’s turn to suffer misfortune – this time not only to his Panther Racing IndyCar but to the driver himself.
A broken wrist has him on the sidelines in Canada this weekend but the classy Cosmo was the one of the first to reach out to his rival via social media to wish him a speedy recovery.
