Corvette’s Big Chance

Corvette Racing could be in with a chance to return to victory lane at Mosport after BMW’s Dirk Werner was assessed a stop-go penalty for hitting the GTC leader, Spencer Pumpelly.

BMW has dominated the championship so far this year, winning every race and scoring every pole.

A smaller engine air restrictor has been mandated by IMSA for the German manufacturer from the Mid-Ohio round onwards.

Magnussen and teammate Oliver Gavin have assumed the race lead ahead of Jaime Melo/Toni Vilander’s Ferrari and Werner’s BMW.

Klaus Graf and the Muscle Milk squad continue to lead the LMP1 class while Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez have been untouchable in LMPC – leading every lap and stretching a lead of up to 2 laps at one point of the race.
