Corvette and Porsche fast at Sebring
Porsche and Corvette topped the times in the first two session at Sebring International Raceway in the GTLM class as team’s prepare for this year’s 12 hour battle.
Porsche’s Fred Makowiecki set the pace in the first session with a time of 1:57.109 which has stood up as the fastest time of the day to date. Joining the Frenchmen in the No.911 car is Patrick Pilet and Dirk Werner.
Corvette Racing’s Tommy Milner led the afternoon session with a time about a 10th of a second slower at 1:57.206. Milner shares the No.4 Corvette with Oliver Gavin and Marcel Fassler.
The Rolex 24-winning Ford pack were also strong – finishing 2-3-5 in the first session and 2-6-7 in the afternoon.
These times today compare to last year’s pole position qualifying pace of 1:58.402 set by BMW.
Cars will be back on track this evening for night practice from 7:30pm.
