Corvette Paces Warm Up at Lime Rock
Antonio Garcia and Corvette Racing are the third different manufacturers to lead this weekend after pacing morning warm up at Lime Rock Park.
The No. 3 Corvette of Garica and Jan Magnussen is leading the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar GTLM championship by just three points over the No. 25 BMW M6 GTLM duo of Alexander Sims and Bill Auberlen.
Second place in the session went to the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR. Gianmaria Bruni put the car on pole yesterday and Laurens Vanthoor set the second fastest time this morning, solidifying their status as a race-day threat.
The second Corvette, the No. 4 of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin was third fastest, followed by the sister No. 911 Porsche of Patrick Pilet and Dirk Werner.
Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller in the No. 66 Ford GT rounded out the top five.
Not cracking the top five were the pair of BMW machines. Though they stood on the top step of the podium at Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the No. 25 M6 GTLM and the teammate No. 24 have not remained at the top of the pack this weekend at Lime Rock Park. However, with less than a second separating all eight cars in the IMSA GTLM class, the race is still up for grabs.
The all-GT NorthEast Grand Prix battle at Lime Rock Park goes green at 3:05 PM ET. It will be shown live on Fox Sports 2 and Fox Sports Go.
