Taking the Le Mans Prototype Challenge class victory and fourth place overall was the CORE autosport entry driven by Gunnar Jeannette and Ricardo Gonzalez at Mosport.
The Rock Hill, SC-based team celebrated is the first ever 1-2 class finish as driver/team founder Jon Bennett and Frankie Montecalvo claimed second in class and fifth overall.
Bennett and Montecalvo bounced back after two unscheduled pit stops, a spin, contact with another car and a race against time to get back in contention.
A classic case of moto “never give up” – the team boss and his New Jersey young gun ended up behind their teammates on the podium when two other LMPC machines ran out of fuel on the final lap of the race.
