Christmas Lights, Le Mans Style
December 24, 2012
The colorful trackside lights at Le Mans 2012 are accented by a single leader light on the #1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro hybrid of 2011 race champions Benoit Treluyer, Andre Lotterer and Marcel Fassler.
In taking the first ever Le Mans victory for a hybrid, in this case a turbo-diesel-flywheel hybrid with electric wheel motors mounted on the front, the trio defended the Le Mans title and made history in 2012.
Ben and Andre went on to capture the 2012 FIA-WEC championship as well, keeping the number #1 on their panel, if not their leader lights, for 2013.
