Ferrari has been fast this week at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and in the early laps after the green flag, the European AF Corse squad with Gimmi Bruni behind the wheel has taken the lead.

Two Ferrari F458 Italia machines are entered in the GTLM class this weekend – the AF Corse No.51 machine and the No.62 Risi Competizione entry.

Risi are the local heroes gunning for success. Pierre Kaffer and Giancarlo Fisichella had a tough start to last year’s championship but ended up reversing their form to return to victory lane at Road America and Virginia International Raceway.

Ferrari has a great history here at Daytona. With nine victories including two overall wins here at Daytona, the Prancing Horse has an incredible pedigree that both Risi and AF Corse want to expand on.

Factory Ferrari driver Davide Rigon has been drafted into the Risi squad this weekend. The Italian’s primary program will be in the FIA World Endurance Championship – along with conducting F1 testing.

Michelin caught up with the Italian who has a diverse racing background – including claiming the inaugural championship in the soccer-themed Superleague Formula championship – the former series which utilized 750 horsepower V12-powered Panoz open wheel chassis.
