Can CORE make it five in a row?
CORE autosport already holds the record for the most consecutive wins in the PC class of the American Le Mans Series, but the Rock Hill, SC-based has its sights set on continuing its winning run.
CORE #06 machine won the first two races with championship leader Alex Popow heading the driving line-up. Team owner Jon Bennett and young gun Colin Braun bounced back to win the last two.
Twelve months ago in Canada the CORE team scored its first 1-2 result. This year they grabbed its first 1-2 qualifying performance – the team grabbing the top two spots after original second placed qualifier Kyle Marcelli lost his fastest time after being accused of blocking. Braun took the pole with Ryan Dalziel (teamed this weekend with Popow) starting second today.
SPEED.com caught up with Bennett and Braun after yesterday’s qualifying performance.
