Busy boys at Road America
Eight different drivers are set for double duty at Road America this weekend as the American Le Mans Series and the GRAND-AM Rolex Series combine at the same circuit for the first time.
BMW drivers Bill Auberlen, Maxime Martin and John Edwards will join Ferrari driver Leh Keen, Porsche aces Patrick Long, Spencer Pumpelly and Andy Lally plus PC class young star Tristan Nunez in competing in both races.
Co-drivers Auberlen and Martin will both be seen aboard BMW machinery on Saturday – albeit in different cars for Turner Motorsport in GRAND-AM.
John Edwards fills in again for Joey Hand this week with BMW in the ALMS. In the GRAND-AM series he drives a Chevrolet Camaro for Stevenson Motorsports. He is currently in hot contention for the GRAND-AM GT championship – only four points of the series lead at the moment.
Andy Lally holds that GT lead for Magnus Racing. He’ll also be battling Patrick Long in the GT class who will be in action for the Park Place team.
Both Tristan Nunez and Spencer Pumpelly drive in the GX class in GRAND-AM – Nunez aboard a Mazda and Pumpelly in a Porsche Cayman.
