Busy Bobby
Bobby Rahal is a busy guy, even by the traditionally busy standards of, well, Bobby Rahal. The three times Indycar series champion and former Indy 500 winner is doing triple duty this weekend in Monterey, Indianapolis and Birmingham, Alabama.
“The Bob” is at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham today for this weekend’s “Legends of Motorsports, a Bobby Rahal Signature Event.” Tonight he heads to Monterey where the BMW Rahal Letterman team factory cars will start fifth and sixth in Saturday’s six-hour American Le Mans Series race here at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Meanwhile, his son Graham, now 21, will attempt to qualify this weekend for his third Indianapolis 500.
“Things around our shop have been a little busy lately,” said Rahal stalwart Dennis Swan with an almost straight face.
