Eight-time CART/Champ Car winner Bruno Junqueira showed again today that an American Le Mans Series victory might be next for the Brazilian ace.
Junqueira scored his second PC class pole of the year at Mazda Raceway Laguna – making him undefeated in qualifying this year With qualifying rained out at Long Beach, Junqueira’s Sebring and Laguna poles proved he is the man to beat in qualifying.
The former Indy 500 pole winner and three-time CART/Champ Car series runner-up will share the No.9 PC class entry with regular co-driver Tomy Drissi and Roberto Gonzalez.
Less than 7/10ths of a second covered the top seven cars in qualifying today. CORE autosport debutant, Tom Kimber-Smith was second fastest ahead of the Muscle Milk Racing PC class entry of Michael Guasch, Memo Gidley and newcomer Archie Hamilton.
