BMW Heads Corvette, Ferrari in Tight GT Test
BMW Team RLL led the way in an afternoon “unofficial” testing session here at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park that reflected the ultra-tight competition in the American Le Mans Series GT category.
The #55 BMW of Jorg Muller and Bill Auberlen led the way with a time of 1:17.342, just 0.037 seconds ahead of the #3 Corvette Racing entry of Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia and another 0.031 seconds up on the #01 Extreme Speed Ferrari of Johannes van Overbeek and Scott Sharp.
The #56 BMW of Joey Hand and Dirk Muller came next at 1:17.574 with the GT championship leading #4 Corvette of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin rounding out the top-five at 1:17.683.
Official practice begins tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. local (Eastern) time with the final pre-qualifying session at 2:10pm.
