Barnstorming Butch steals LMPC pole
Veteran Butch Leitzinger stormed to pole position on his debut in the LMPC class at Road America today – clinching the top spot by only 0.095 of a second.
Having previously competed in LMP1, LMP2, GT and GTC – Leitzinger lines up with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports this weekend aboard an LMPC machine for the first time.
He held off Gunnar Jeannette’s CORE autosport entry with the Kyle Marcelli entry only fractions of a second behind.
The entire top four of the LMPC grid were covered by only 0.138 of a second.
Michelin Alley caught up with Leitzinger after qualifying to get his impressions on his new ride.
