Audi young stars take Sebring

March 17, 2013

audicar2Audi young star Oliver Jarvis is pretty keen to do some more races in the USA – in fact, he’s probably ready to set up camp in Florida.

After two races in two months, he now has a pair of Rolex watches for winning the GT class in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the Audi R8 and the overall win today at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Not bad for somebody who had never raced in the US previously.

Jarvis teamed with Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler today to take Audi’s 11th win at the historic airfield circuit. The win backed up his January Daytona success where he drove with Dion von Moltke (another Sebring winner today in the GTC class), Edoardo Mortara and Felipe Albuquerque.

audiposter“Fantastic start to the year for me. To win Daytona was unexpected and to come here and win again is amazing.”

“The guys are used to driving with Andre Lotterer and they have welcomed me in to this car. The boys on the team work ever so hard. Working late and up early. It was a fantastic week and fantastic couple of months.

“To be asked to drive here was a privilege and then to win with these guys, wow. It is amazing. When I heard Audi was running 2 cars, I didn’t think I would be here.

“When I got the call, I put the phone down and started jumping around. I hope to be back on a regular basis.

“We did hit some debris that damaged the floor. That caused some issues. They guys did a great job fixing it. It didn’t effect the car too much.”

Treluyer, Fassler and Lotterer have taken victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the past two years and also won last year’s inaugural World Endurance Championship for Audi.
