They have clinched back-to-back championships, won seven races in a row and now Muscle Milk Pickett Racing have their sights set on giving Lucas Luhr another milestone as the American Le Mans Series enters its final two races.

Luhr and Klaus Graf were again dominant today to extend their own record for consecutive overall victories – pushing the number out to seven.

The duo were untroubled after grabbing the lead on the opening lap and completing another dominant performance.

“Like you said, another great day for Muscle Milk Picket racing,” Graf said.

“Lucas did a great job at the start. He lead at the first corner and took off from there. With little to no dry running, hats off to the team and the setup. From the test in December till now, we’ve really put together an excellent package.

“If you compare our laps today to the WEC qualifying we were close. We have great partners with HPD and Muscle Milk, we are coming to an end of the type of class of car, the P1 cars, and any one who has ever driven one loves to drive them.

“Its fun going through the essess in fourth and fifth gear and just pushing hard. We want to win the last two races, and especially Petit Le Mans, and if we can we can give Lucas his 50th win and that will be unbelievable.”

Luhr now has 48 American Le Mans Series victories – an amazing performance for the German who debuted in the series in 2000.

“I was in a GT here in 2000 and I see the prototypes drive by and I thought, wow, I want to drive one of those,” Luhr said.

“Now I’ve been driving Prototypes for a long time now. I raced a lot in Europe and I have always like the atmosphere driving here in the US, the tracks here are some of the top notch in the entire world.

“If you love driving here in the US, its hard to adapt back to the atmosphere going back to driving in Europe. The ALMS Paddock buzz is always great and its nice to be around so many people who enjoy it.”
