Acura new title sponsor of Long Beach weekend
The former Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend has a new entitlement partner, and it’s another Japanese automotive brand.
Acura has signed on for a multi-year agreement to become the Long Beach race weekend’s new title partner. This year marks the 45th Long Beach Grand Prix weekend.

The weekend includes IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action along with the NTT IndyCar Series and a handful of other racing series. IMSA’s BUBBA burger Sports Car Grand Prix takes place Saturday, April 13.
“With our U.S. headquarters nearby in Torrance, this is a true ‘home’ event for the Acura brand,” said Jon Ikeda, Acura vice president and general manager.
“The Grand Prix of Long Beach is one of North America’s premier motorsports events, and an institution in Southern California. Acura is delighted and proud to be associated with the Grand Prix of Long Beach, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
Acura has both DPi and GTD class cars in the WeatherTech Championship. The GTD class, however, does not race on the Long Beach weekends.
Acura and Team Penske premiered a historic livery on its Nos. 6 and 7 ARX-05 DPi cars at Daytona. The trio of Ricky Taylor, Helio Castroneves and Alexander Rossi finished third in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
