A hard day’s night for ESM
The Extreme Speed Motorsports team had little time to celebrate Johannes van Overbeek’s pole position at VIR yesterday.
While the No.01 Ferrari topped the timesheet, the No.02 machine came back to the paddock a little worse for wear after Ed Brown suffered a heavy impact with the tire barrier.
“I don’t really know what happened,” Brown said.
“I was on my fastest lap ever here at VIR and things were going pretty good. I hit the brakes and thought I slowed down enough.
“Our starting position is not that great because of what happened. I feel bad, the crew had to do some serious work to get the Ferrari ready.”
While still a little battle scarred, the No.02 will be on the grid today for Brown and Guy Cosmo after a busy night for the team. Michelin Alley spoke with team boss Scott Sharp about the hard working crew.
