Marino is back for ALMS asault
Marino Franchitti is back in the ALMS this weekend, making his debut in the PC class with PR1 Mathieson Motorsports.
2012 has been a busy year for the popular Scot as he played a major role in the development of the Nissan DeltaWing.
Unfortunately, he missed out on the opportunity to get race laps at the 24 Hours of Le Mans but will now get the chance to team up with Ken Dobson this weekend.
Franchitti was last seen in action in the ALMS at Petit Le Mans last year where he drove in P2 for Level 5 Motorsport. His previous Petit assault was capped with a race victory for Highcroft Racing which helped seal the championship for David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud.
While he hasn’t driven in the PC class previously, Franchitti is very familiar with the actual car’s chassis and Michelin tires. Michelin Alley caught up with him in the paddock at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park today to find out the similarities between his new and old rides.
